A modern dancer and choreographer, Miguel Godreau trained at the Performing Arts High School, the Joffrey Ballet School, and the School of American Ballet. Godreau went on to dance with Donald McKayle, Harkness Ballet, Cullberg Ballet of Sweden, and Alvin Ailey. From about 1972 to 1974, Godreau was married to Judith Jamison,
currently artistic director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
