At the time of his death, Robert Durr was a graduate student in composition. He was studying with composer Michael Schelle, who wrote to us about Durr in 2000:
"His last piece (unfinished) was a flute concerto written for the Springfield (MA) Symphony Orchestra, Ray Harvey was to conduct.
"The piece was called Blind in One Eye and our final lessons were in his hospital room."
