    Graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University (1977)

    George McGovern played trumpet, trombone and horn and composed works for brass ensembles and other chamber groups.

    He wrote incidental music for the Off-Off-Broadway productions Small Change and Bachelor Party.

    George McGovern died of AIDS in New York at the age of 35 on October 8, 1990.
