IDENTIFICATION AND BIO:
Theatre Composer, Pianist
B.A. in Music, Washington State University, Pullman, Washington (1979) (Phi Beta Kappa)
Todd Moeller was a lively force in the musical theatre scene of Seattle. He was the pianist and music director for numerous productions at Seattle Repertory Theatre, Fifth Avenue Theatre, A Contemporary Theatre, Bathhouse Theatre and other venues.
Moeller is perhaps best known for his musical comedy collaboration with Lauren Marshall, Waiter, There's a Slug in My Latte. Marshall, a writer and attorney, had approached him in 1989 with her idea for a musical spoof of Seattle foibles and styles. Their show became a hit at the Cabaret de Paris in Seattle's Rainier Square, and had several successful engagements elsewhere.
Moeller later collaborated with lyricist Mark Anders on a musical horror-movie spoof, Evil Reba, which was also produced at Cabaret de Paris.
He was still working a few weeks before his death, playing keyboards for the touring production of The Will Rogers Follies at Fifth Avenue Theatre.
Todd Moeller died of AIDS in Seattle at the age of 37 on November 23, 1993.
